The poet has said that “no one is an island unto him/herself…”; everyone has and seeks connection. As part of the IGRC Community, we seek to make connections between persons, groups and churches. When we form relationships and connections, our lives are enriched in a variety of ways and persons are better informed and enabled to be a part of a larger discussion.
The IGRC Community, the latest in a series of advancements to the Conference website, is an attempt to “connect the connection” – to bring persons together to create networks within the Illinois Great Rivers Conference and throughout the world where we learn form each other about the forming of Christian community and faithful discipleship.
I invite you to take the time to create an account and then join in the discussion. There are areas available where registered persons can post their own blog and upload media files. There is a special area where friends and colleagues will be able to post their expressions of sympathy for those who have died and there will be forum areas for ministries to conduct dialogue and discussion. Areas will also be available to provide instant feedback to the news and events as they are posted.
Through these efforts, we believe the Illinois Great Rivers Conference is poised to connect the connection in new and exciting ways, and we stand ready for the challenges that may come in the future.
